Our Vision

Empowering communities by empowering schools to empower students to look within themselves, define their dreams, and link their dreams with their education.

Our mission

We believe the core principle to school success is a comprehensive understanding of the “why.” The mission of  My Brothers Teacher is to give urban schools the tools and resources to bridge students’ purpose and passion with the school’s mission and daily operation through the utilization of the community’s own resources. We believe that this is the key to helping students value education; improving school culture and academic mastery. Change the Mindset. Change the Culture. Change the Community.

Our purpose

What is the purpose of the school? Compared to their private education and suburban counterparts, urban schools are failing our students. In response, the education reform narrative stresses euphemisms such as “grit,” creating an overclassification of special education students, and debatable policies such as longer school days. Infrastructural change is suggested without consideration for the student’s interests. We must reimagine the purpose of education so that school is not a place where teachers simply give students grades; rather, teachers give students the tools to achieving their own dreams - making clear the link between passion and academic achievement.

What We Believe

At My Brother’s Teacher LLC, we make every decision based on our motto: Change The Mindset. Change The Culture. Change The Community. We strongly believe that every community is a reflection of the schools within that community. This goes for communities of affluence and communities of poverty and all communities that fall in between. Our goal is to work WITH schools to effectively change the mindsets of their students. By reimagining schools with the students' needs and abilities placed at the forefront of the schools focus, we feel that students will understand that they are valued and feel supported. This will in turn propel students towards academic success which will result in the culture of the school being changed. We believe that schools that meet the social and emotional needs of their students positively affect the communities in which their students come from. This is the foundation of My Brother’s Teacher.
